There is a need for a polling center to conduct surveys for the purpose of not only nominating and electing “People’s Choice” recipients, but to also solicit opinions on various issues concerning the racing community and the events affecting it. I have been asked on numerous occasions, by numerous people, how fans, drivers and crews feel about an assortment of subjects.
For example: What type of tire would be most popular? Or, if a mini-concession stand were built, what items should be sold there?
KNOWING what your customers want and how they feel is essential in providing those items and making their visit to your facility more enjoyable.
The purpose of the Polling Center:
1) Provide requesting facilities information pertaining to the preferences of the community they cater to. These preferences could relate to concessions, racing issues, seating and/or hours of operation, among other things.
2) To nominate and elect “People’s Choice” awards and acknowledgments. Recipients of this process may receive trophies, money, certificates of recognition.
The Polling Center was not created to inject yet another message board into an endless sea of social media, but to provide a specific venue for collecting opinions and selecting recipients of certain awards. When the integrity of the electing body is pristine, the outcome of the elections is true. To become a permanent polling member, the enrollment process requires you to list your real name. This information cannot be viewed by the general public and will not be shared with any other entity. It is essential in selecting legitimate awardees.
For the most part, the Polling Center will remain inactive, unless a poll is in progress. Visits will be brief and opinions collected. When a facility requests a poll, a mass email will be sent out to all registered members of the Polling Center. It will state the reason for the poll and the requesting facilities name, unless it is being conducted anonymously. The results of these polls will be accurate and true, and not subjected to numerous votes being cast for the same person by a single individual.
